The most important is ofcourse to ask the neighbours in your house, top to bottom, if they are okay with you starting the street garden in front of the house. It will be in front of the groundfloor people, so they need to be okay..
Chairs and sitting area is oh so appealing. It comes with people just sitting down there, so give it a good thought and then start your plan. Its common to have the folding chairs inside in the hall way, so you bring em out when you are sitting in the sun.
The gemeente is willing to make the garden, its a possibility sinds around 1996. Its only so many gardens per season, they typically do, but as a group we can always ask nicely to have some more put in this year. Make sure you contact us when its not moving. They do need a person who is “responsible” so there is also someone who will take care of ending the garden when its not working.
When having a garden in front of your house its important to keep the AIR-roosters free: one tile up with two side tiles. Its in the Gemeentes plan, just make sure you do that too when there is a garden allready or you make one.
Then.. jummy earth, plants, poke around, give water, and ENJOY!
Dogs. dogs.. yes, dogs need to do there pee.. maybe we can make lanterns super charming for them? Lets find solutions..
